 "Baha'is of Lafayette have been granted a plot of land by the city of Lafayette along the western shore of Waneka Lake for a perennial garden. Since 1990 this garden has been maintained and provided year-round color along the bike/running trail.
Residents of the community have often remarked on the beauty and serenity of the spot. A plaque with a Baha'i prayer for unity and a bench provide the walker or runner with an opportunity to stop and reflect on the beauty of nature.

The Lafayette Baha'i Community is part of a cluster of communities within Boulder County, CO comprising Boulder, Erie, Superior, Lafayette, Louisville, Longmont, Broomfield, and Lyons. Lafayette is located about 10 miles east of Boulder off highway 36 W along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. It is a town of about 20,000 people with most people commuting to Boulder or Denver area jobs. It is surrounded by greenbelt prairie and is about 45 minutes from the Rocky Mountains. Lafayette has an active Baha'i community involved in varied outreach projects on social and economic development. Lafayette has a Baha'i center serving the North Denver Metro area and which is the focal point for weekly activities such as devotional gatherings, study circles, and children's classes.
